Unstrung features an unusual female character (Laura Spinella is exceptionally good at this) who will linger in your thoughts long after the novel is finished. The chapters are written in alternating points of view with Olivia, an extremely gifted violin player professionally employed with the New England Symphony being the main character and Theo, a young inner city music teacher is secondary. Throw in a husband who takes financial risks that aren’t always the best choice, an ex-husband who resurfaces after many years and who wants Olivia back and you have a complex, layered story that will draw you in and not let go.

Be prepared for several unexpected hooks and secrets revealed throughout that will take your breath away. This is a surprising love story, not typical in any way, and completely satisfying.
